When it comes to radio promotion for Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road,” the only immediate focus is climbing the country airplay chart (where “Body” already holds a Top 30 position).
Some hot adult contemporary and pop stations, however, have begun to provide early airplay.
According to Mediabase, “Body Like A Back Road” received at least 48 Hot AC spins in the seven days between February 7-13. Boston’s Mix 104.1 played it a whopping 25 times, while Hartford’s 96.5 TIC offered 20 spins. Cincinnati’s Q102 played the song thrice within that window.
Hunt’s new single meanwhile received 4 spins from Buffalo pop station Kiss 98.5. SiriusXM’s Hits 1 pop station also played the song four times in the seven-day window.
Hunt has some history of crossover attention at the hot adult contemporary and pop formats. His country radio smash “Take Your Time” reached the Top 15 at Hot AC and Top 30 at pop.
