Facing monster competition from the season premiere of AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” HBO’s “Westworld” predictably suffered a drop in live+same-day viewership.
According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Westworld” drew a 0.69 adults 18-49 rating and 1.70 million total viewers.
The numbers trail the 0.92 rating and 2.10 million total viewer sum garnered by last week’s episode.
Live+same-day numbers, obviously, do not tell the full story regarding “Westworld.” The previous three episodes fared well with multi-platform/DVR/on-demand users, and there is no reason to doubt that some (if not many) of the live+same-day viewers “lost” to Sunday’s “The Walking Dead” will ultimately catch up on this week’s broadcast.
— “Divorce,” which led out of “Westworld” and spent its first four minutes opposite the final four minutes of Sunday’s “TWD,” drew a 0.18 rating and 0.64 million total viewers. Last week’s episode drew a 0.24 and 0.85 million.
“Insecure” matched last week’s adults 18-49 performance (0.15) and actually rose in total viewership (from 0.46 million to 0.47 million).
“Last Week Tonight” followed with a 0.40 adults 18-49 rating and 1.18 million in viewership. Last week’s “Last Week Tonight” posted a 0.49 rating and 1.34 million total viewers.
