Twenty One Pilots’ “Heathens” Reaches #1 On US iTunes Sales Chart

Aided by the release of “Suicide Squad” and a growing presence at radio, twenty one pilots’ “Heathens” is up to #1 on the US iTunes single sales chart.

“Heathens,” which appears on the “Suicide Squad” soundtrack, seized the throne from DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You (featuring Justin Bieber)” late Tuesday night.

Effectively serving as a follow-up to twenty one pilots’ “Ride,” the song is already in the Top 5 at alternative radio and rapidly gaining traction at the hot adult contemporary and pop formats. It is also faring well on Spotfiy, where it ranked as Monday’s #4 song in the US.

The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” (#3), Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ)” (#4), and Lil Wayne/Wiz Khalifa/Imagine Dragons’ “Sucker For Pain (featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Logic & X Ambassadors)” (#5) form the balance of the Top 5 on iTunes.

“Sucker For Pain” also appears on the “Suicide Squad” soundtrack.
