“Work From Home” Sets Fifth Harmony Peak at Pop Radio; Likely Going #1 Next Week

Fifth Harmony Kimmel [ABC]

In rising from #4 to #3 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, “Work From Home (featuring Ty Dolla $ign)” becomes Fifth Harmony’s highest charting pop hit.

Next week, it will likely be named the group’s first #1 at the format.

“Work From Home” reaches its new pop peak thanks to the ~16,257 spins it received during the May 15-21 tracking week (+1,145). It had spent the past three weeks at #4, which was the peak mark achieved by Fifth Harmony’s 2015 single “Worth It (featuring Kid Ink).”

The ~16,257 weekly spin count only narrowly trails those received by Mike Posner’s #1 “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” (~16,508) and Lukas Graham’s #2 “7 Years” (~16,343). Given that “Work From Home” is still gaining steam while those songs are fading (both were down over 1,000 spins this week), it should have no trouble leapfrogging them early into the May 22-28 tracking week.

It meanwhile faces no imminent threat from below. The Chainsmokers’ rising #5 “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya)” is still more than 2,400 spins back. Justin Timberlake’s rising #7 “Can’t Stop The Feeling” and Drake’s #8 “One Dance (featuring WizKid & Kyla)” each trail by more than 4,400 spins. While all three songs are gaining at a rapid rate, none should be able to catch “Work From Home” — assuming it does not suddenly start sinking — this week.

“Work From Home” has already hit #1 on the rhythmic airplay chart; it is currently #3 on the listing. It is also inside the Top 25 at Hot AC radio and Top 50 at urban radio.
