Update: When Wednesday began, Trent Harmon’s potential “American Idol” coronation single “Falling” was outselling Dalton Rapattoni’s “Strike A Match” and La’Porsha Renae’s “Battles” on iTunes.

By Wednesday evening, the hierarchy had changed. Rapattoni’s single is now leading the pack.

As of 6:55PM ET, “Strike A Match” is #143 on the all-genre US iTunes sales chart. Harmon’s “Falling” is #170, while Renae’s “Battles” is #399.

“American Idol” will send one of the remaining contestants packing during Wednesday night’s show. The other two will compete for America’s vote, and the fifteenth and final “Idol” winner will be crowned Thursday night.

The winner’s single will then be promoted as the official “American Idol” coronation song.

In advance of the final performance show, “American Idol” made the three potential coronation singles available for digital purchase.

Thus far (12PM ET), Trent Harmon’s option is selling at the fastest pace.

Harmon’s “Falling” is currently #183 on the all-genre US iTunes sales chart. Fellow Top 3 member Dalton Rapattoni is #251 with “Strike A Match,” while La’Porsha Renae’s “Battles” distantly trails at #675.

One of the remaining contestants is due to be eliminated on Wednesday’s show. The final two will then compete for America’s vote, with “Idol” revealing its fifteenth and final winner Thursday night.

The winner’s single will most likely receive a formal push at radio; Nick Fradiani’s “Beautiful Life,” last year’s coronation song, ended up charting at the hot adult contemporary and pop formats.
