Adele’s “Hello” Certified 4X Platinum In The United States

No stranger to RIAA certifications, global music superstar Adele is officially beginning to receive them for her “25” project.

Lead single “Hello” this week was certified up to 4X platinum under the RIAA’s Digital Singles program.

Per the digital program, the certification confirms a US unit total of at least 4 million. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

As it had not previously been certified, “Hello” retroactively received distinctions for gold, platinum, 2X platinum, and 3X platinum.

The certifications came on 12/2. “Hello” was first released on October 23 and became the first single to sell over 1 million paid US downloads in a single tracking week.
