For the first time since the March 30-April 5 tracking week, Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have Money” enjoyed a week-over-week sales gain. The improved weekly sales total brings “BBHMM” past the 600,000 cumulative US sales mark.
According to Nielsen Music, “BBHMM” shifted 34.9K downloads during the June 1-7 tracking week. Up 25% from that of the previous week, the total earns “Bitch” the #37 position on the weekly digital sales chart.
It also elevates the song’s cumulative US total to 608.8K.
Technically the song’s second week-over-week sales increase, this week’s was the first for which the comparison was apples-to-apples.
The March 30-April 5 increase was attributable to the fact that the song debuted midway through the previous tracking week. Had the song’s first week of release been a full one, “Bitch Better Have My Money” doubtfully would have gained in week two.
With the promotional plug pulled on “American Oxygen,” “Bitch Better Have My Money” is slated to officially impact pop radio on June 16. It is currently #3 on Mediabase’s rolling urban airplay chart and #6 on the rolling rhythmic airplay chart.
