Three songs make inaugural Top 40 appearances on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
Trey Songz’ “Slow Motion,” the highest-charting of the three, rises seven places to a new peak of #38 on this week’s chart. Its new Top 40 position comes in conjunction with a #29 spot on the Streaming Songs subchart.
Justin Bieber is responsible for the week’s other two Top 40 newcomers.
— Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You,” the first of the two, rockets forty four spots to a new peak of #39.
Owing to the buzz and impact of a Justin Bieber-led celebrity lip-syncing video, the lead single from Jepsen’s forthcoming third album concurrently surges to #19 on the Streaming Songs subchart and #32 on Digital Songs. The latter position is also attributable to a $0.69 sale on iTunes.
Bieber also appears in the song’s original music video.
— Up two places this week, Skrillex & Diplo’s “Where Are U Now” grabs the #40 spot on this week’s Hot 100. Bieber is the track’s featured vocalist.
The song is also positioned at #26 on Digital Songs and #40 on Streaming Songs.
