Hot 100: Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” Hits #1, Dethrones “Blank Space”

For the past seven weeks, the Billboard Hot 100 has featured Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” at the top of its chart.

This week, it vacates that leadership position and thus creates a literal blank space on the chart. Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” writes its name.

Benefiting immensely from a monstrous sales week, which saw the track command 382,000 paid downloads, “Funk” rises one place to #1. In dethroning Taylor Swift’s successful “1989” single, “Uptown Funk” gives Mark Ronson his first Hot 100 #1 and Bruno Mars his sixth.

“Blank Space” slips to #2 on this week’s chart.

The weekly top ten follows:

1) Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk ft. Bruno Mars
2) Taylor Swift – Blank Space
3) Hozier – Take Me to Church
4) Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud
5) Meghan Trainor – Lips are Movin
6) Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass
7) Taylor Swift – Shake it Off
8) Sam Smith – I’m Not the Only One
9) Nick Jonas – Jealous
10) Maroon 5 – Animals
