While all signs–including a Tweet from her label boss Scott Borchetta–indicate “Style” will be Taylor Swift’s next single, it has not yet been formally confirmed as such. It certainly has not yet been formally pushed to radio.
Key pop stations are not waiting, however. The song, which was performed during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and currently maintains a top thirty position on the iTunes single sales chart, is now pop’s 50th-most-played song.
According to Mediabase, the song commanded 325 plays during the week between December 30 and January 5. That marks a week-over-week increase of 175 plays.
Thanks to its support from major market stations (including Chicago’s B96 and San Francisco’s 99-7 NOW), “Style” ranks even more favorably from an audience standpoint. Its weekly impression count of 3.041 million is the pop format’s 40th-largest.
Other heavy early supporters include Spokane’s Now 105.7, Detroit’s 98.7 AMP, Boise’s 103.5 KISS, Long Island’s 106.1 BLI and Tampa’s Hot 101.5.
