After a single day of airplay, Iggy Azalea’s new “Beg for It (featuring MØ)” is nearly a top forty song at pop radio.
According to Mediabase, “Beg for It,” which was aided by promotional, hourly spinsins from many key stations, received 1,134 pop plays in its first day of release. That total ranks as the 41st-largest for the entire seven day period ending October 24.
Since “Beg for It” will receive at least some airplay on October 25, it is a lock to appear in the top forty on the official weekly airplay chart. To be published Sunday, that chart will reveal the top pop songs for the October 19-25 tracking week.
Earlier this week, Gwen Stefani’s “Baby Don’t Lie” debuted at a slightly higher #39 on the rolling chart. Its first day spin total clocked in at 1,148.
“Beg for It,” however, reached a slightly larger audience. Its 12.22 pop radio impressions best the 11.11 million earned by “Baby Don’t Lie” in its opening day.
Iggy and MØ will perform “Beg for It” on Saturday’s edition of “SNL.”
