Imagine Dragons’ New Single “I Bet My Life” Debuts (Listen Now)

Update 4: Audio for “I Bet My Life” has been released.

Update 3: Imagine Dragons’ new single “I Bet My Life,” which is due to imminently arrive at alternative radio, is now available on iTunes.

Despite the initial emphasis on the alternative market, “I Bet My Life” features a clear pop sensibility.  By combining an atmospheric chorus with folky elements on the verses, the song is distinct enough from the typical pop sound to warrant an alternative label yet accessible enough to warrant an eventual crossover push.

Update 2: In the wake of Headline Planet’s report, Interscope now confirms that Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” arrives at alternative radio at 12:01AM on Monday, October 27.

Update: While Interscope’s radio promotions website is exclusively promoting a pop impact for this Monday, management for Imagine Dragons writes to Headline Planet to the say new single “I Bet My Life” is first being serviced to alternative/modern rock radio. No impact plan or date has yet been established for any format but alternative.

After spending some time dabbling in the soundtrack game, Imagine Dragons is finally gearing to launch the follow-up to studio debut “Night Visions.”

The road to that presently untitled album’s release officially begins Monday.

According to Interscope, the album’s lead single “I Bet My Life” will be shipped to the pop format at 12:01AM on Monday, October 27. It will be the band’s first official pop single since “On Top of the World.”

Interscope does not currently list an impact date for the alt/modern rock format, but at least one of the genre’s station claims “I Bet My Life” will arrive within the next two weeks.
