Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing” Starts at #32 at Alternative

A song expected to make a quick leap into the top ten at the alternative/modern rock format begins its run within the Top 40 of Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart.

Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing,” which officially launched Thursday, earned 322 opening day spins. That ranks as the 32nd-largest total for the entire week between October 10 and 16.

Its debut audience of 2.13 million ranks at an even more impressive #22 for that seven day tracking period.

“Something” also commanded opening day interest from active rock radio. The songs starts at #43 on that format’s rolling chart thanks to 175 first day spins. Its audience of 948,000 was active rock’s 25th-largest recorded between October 10 and 16.
