Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” Hits Top 40 at Rhythmic

Another radio format is quickly revealing itself to be “All About That Bass.”

Meghan Trainor’s breakthrough hit, which reached a new peak of #2 on the Hot 100 this week, enters the Top 40 on the latest edition of Mediabase’s rhythmic radio airplay chart.

Up eleven places on the strength of the format’s 9th-best spin gain, “Bass” reaches a new peak of #38. It received a total of 649 spins and 2.82 million audience impressions during the August 17-23 tracking period.

An undeniable blockbuster, “All About That Bass” is currently #11 at pop radio and #15 at hot adult contemporary radio. It is also a dominant performer on the sales and streaming charts.

Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle (featuring Young Thug)” (#36), Trey Songz’ “Touchin, Lovin (featuring Nicki Minaj)” (#37), John Legend’s “You & (Nobody in The World)” (#39) and Maroon 5’s “Maps” (#40) also enter the rhythmic Top 40 this week.

Other notables on the chart:

— Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em (featuring YG),” which is still rapidly gaining spins, holds onto the #1 position.

— Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” reaches a new peak of #2. Tinashe’s “2 On (featuring ScHoolboy Q)” (#3), Kid Ink’s “Main Chick (featuring Chris Brown)” (#4) and Disclosure’s “Latch (featuring Sam Smith)” (#5) also appear in the Top 5.

— Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” the week’s greatest spin gainer, surges six places to a new peak of #14.

— Lil Jon’s “Bend Ova (featuring Tyga)” (#17), Drake’s “0 To 100/The Catch Up” (#18) and Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” (#19) all surge into the Top 20 this week.

— Steve Aoki, Chris Lake and Tujamo’s “Delirious (Boneless featuring Kid Ink)” jumps five spots to a new high of #22.

— Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” also joins the Top 25 at #24.

— Usher’s “She Came to Give it To You (featuring Nicki Minaj)” climbs five places to #27.

— Migos’ “Fight Night” and Iamsu!’s “Only That Real (featuring 2 Chainz)” also enter the top 30 at #29 and #30, respectively.

— Top movers beneath the Top 40 include Jasmine V’s “That’s Me Right There” (#42, +190 spins) and Pitbull’s #43 “Fireball (featuring John Ryan)” (#43, +170 spins)
