The chart milestones keep coming for Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.”
The song, which holds the #1 position on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart, a #2 position on iTunes, a Top 20 position on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart and a Top 30 position on the hot adult contemporary airplay chart, blasts into the Top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
After reaching a peak of #8 last week, “Bass” climbs another four places to #4 on the weekly chart. Only MAGIC!’s #1 “Rude,” Sam Smith’s #2 “Stay With Me” and Iggy Azalea’s #3 “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” rank higher on the latest Hot 100.
The song, which is rising steadily in all Hot 100 categories, sets a record for the digital sales component this week.
According to Billboard, “Bass” reigns as the Hot 100’s greatest Digital Gainer for a fourth consecutive stint. Since February 2005, when Billboard began incorporating digital sales into the Hot 100, no song has claimed as many consecutive top digital gainer marks.
The last song to rank as the greatest “sales gainer” (the physical sales measurement on which Billboard focused prior to 2005) for four consecutive weeks was JoJo’s “Leave (Get Out).”
Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong,” which claimed #4 on last week’s chart, slips to #5 this week.
