Mediabase has revealed its official weekly airplay chart, and Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s red-hot collaboration “Bang Bang” scores an impressive Top 20 debut.
According to Mediabase, the song, which was not even available until Tuesday, July 29, ranked as the 19th-most-played song for the seven days between July 27 and August 2. It received 3,487 spins during that period.
Its audience impression count of 29.11 million ranks at an even more impressive #17 on the Mediabase listing.
Other movers on the weekly Top 40/pop airplay chart:
— Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me,” which maintains its #3 position, looks like a safe bet to become the format’s next #1. Nico and Vinz’ #2 “Am I Wrong” is starting to make a notable slide, while MAGIC!’s #1 “Rude” is also now in a state of decline.
— Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care (featuring Cher Lloyd)” officially returns to the #10 slot this week.
— Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailando (featuring Descemer Bueno, Sean Paul and Gente de Zona),” which rises to #17, gained more week-over-week spins than any other holdover song. Its count of 5,489 was up by 1,299 from last week’s number.
— Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” which secures an official Top 25 position at #24, continues to build momentum. It was the format’s fourth-greatest gainer behind only “Bang Bang” (which benefits from getting its first airplay this week), “Bailando” and Charli XCX’s #7 “Boom Clap.”
— Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” reaches the Top 25 at #25.
— 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Amnesia” flies into the Top 30 at #27.
— Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em (featuring YG)” debuts in the Top 40 at #39.
