While the era of “Come With Me Now” is definitely not over–the song continues to build momentum at pop and remains an airplay powerhouse at alternative–alternative radio programmers are beginning to focus on the follow-up offering from breakout band KONGOS.
According to Mediabase, “I’m Only Joking,” the band’s next single, received pickups from an impressive fifteen stations to rank as alternative radio’s most-added song this week.
Already #50 on the rolling alternative airplay chart, “I’m Only Joking” will leverage the adds to accelerate up the chart. It might not be able to match the impact of predecessor “Come With Me Now,” but it is absolutely poised to make some noise on the alternative format.
Hozier’s rapidly-rising “Take Me to Church,” which is already #30 on the alternative airplay chart, was the week’s second-most-added song with 6 adds. Kings of Leon’s “Family Tree” also landed at six alternative stations this week.
Twin Atlantic’s “Heart and Soul” was fourth-most-added with 5 adds, while Grouplove’s “I’m With You,” Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast” and Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” tied for fifth with 4 adds each.
