Aware of the explosive interest around Iggy Azalea, the reigning queen of pop-rap wants to assure she is not excluded from the conversation.
To make her presence felt, Nicki Minaj is relying on new single “Pills N Potions.”
Billed as the lead single from her upcoming album “The Pink Print,” the new track debuted this week to a solid reception on iTunes. As of press time, it was #4 on the digital retailer’s overall single sales chart. Only Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea),” Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” and Nico & Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” are moving at a faster rate.
Produced by Dr. Luke, “Pills N Potions” is also gearing up for an official impact at pop. According to Republic, it will land at Top 40 radio on June 10. Due to Minaj’s high profile, however, it would not be surprising if some radio stations began prematurely spinning the tune.
