FX’s “The Americans” Ratings Rise for Season Finale

The season finale of FX’s “The Americans” did more than merely elicit rave reviews. It also attracted an improved adults 18-49 audience.

“Echo,” Wednesday’s episode, garnered a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 1.29 million viewers. Up from last week’s 0.4 rating and 1.27 million viewer mark, both the rating and viewership average were the show’s strongest since the “Martial Eagle” episode aired on April 23.

Inflated by a strong season premiere mark, the acclaimed second season of “The Americans” attracted an average audience of 1.34 million viewers for its initial Wednesday night airings.

When announcing the show’s season three renewal, FX added that the show attracts a sizable DVR audience. At the time of the announcement, time-shifted viewing was resulting in an average viewership increase of 109%. DVR playback increased the show’s adults 18-49 audience by an average of 130%.
