“Total Divas” Ratings Tank Against MTV Movie Awards

Responsible for just a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 2.84 million viewers, the MTV Movie Awards was far from a cable television juggernaut.

E! and WWE better hope, however, that the show’s modest audience contained a sizable portion of regular “Total Divas” viewers. After surging to its highest mark since the summer for the last original broadcast on March 30, the wrestling-themed reality show slipped to a season low in adults 18-49.

And although it was also the first episode to face “Game of Thrones,” it was also the season’s first to air without competition from the far-larger “The Walking Dead.”

Down from the March 30 installment’s 0.8 rating with 1.55 million viewers, this week’s episode settled for a soft 0.5 rating with 1.16 million viewers.

While it bested the second season premiere’s viewership count (1.07 million), it trailed that episode’s 0.6 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.
