A surefire source of excitement, The Voice‘s march to the season finale also brings misery for contestants each week.
This week, those victims included Team Shakira contestant Garrett Gardner and Team Usher contestant Vedo, who were both eliminated as NBC’s flagship series whittled its field to ten.
Unlike last week’s dismissal of Caroline Glaser, neither of this Tuesday’s cuts came as a surprise. Gardner’s rock-driven rendition of “I Want it That Way” received lukewarm reviews from the usually-friendly coaching panel, while Vedo’s “Rock With You” failed to ignite fans and faced the challenge of airing at the onset of the two-hour performance show broadcast.
Tuesday’s hourlong results show also featured performances from Robin Thicke, Pharrell and TI (“Blurred Lines”), Lady Antebellum (“Goodbye Town”) and Teams Blake Shelton (“Play Something Country”) and Adam Levine (“Lovesong”).
The remaining ten contestants–The Swon Brothers, Holly Tucker, Danielle Bradbery, Michelle Chamuel, Josiah Hawley, Sasha Allen, Kris Thomas, Judith Hill, Amber Carrington and Sarah Simmons–take the stage next Monday.
