Moments after UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo confirmed a willingness to move up for a fight at 155, UFC President Dana White announced that a top-ranked lightweight is willing to drop down to 145.
White revealed to reports at the post-UFC 156 press conference that Anthony Pettis, fresh off an impressive win over Donald Cerrone that made him a top contender for the Lightweight belt, texted a desire to fight Aldo.
The UFC head said that if the fight were to happen, it would be contested at featherweight for Aldo’s title.
Jose Aldo defeated Frankie Edgar, who was also dropping down after a long stint in the Lightweight title picture, via unanimous decision in the main-event of UFC 156.
