WWE RAW Ratings Surge Against Weak Football Game

America was apparently uninterested in the New York Jets’ fight to stay alive in the NFL Playoffs race. Thanks to weak interest in the Monday Night Football game, WWE RAW surged to its best viewership mark in weeks.

RAW averaged a solid 4.23 million viewers for its Slammy Awards special. A key driver was the strong interest level in the second hour, which featured a surprise appearance from two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. That 9PM portion averaged a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating and 4.41 million viewers, compared to a 1.4 and 4.29 million at 8PM and a 1.4 and 3.99 million at 10PM.

The surging RAW, coming on the heels of the TLC pay-per-view, beat out popular series like “Catfish” and “Pawn Stars” to land in third behind the NFL game and Sportscenter.
