ABC Moves Out of “666 Park Avenue,” Cancels “Last Resort”

With ratings generally disappointing for this year’s crop of new shows, several series have earned surprise full season renewals from their respective networks.

“Last Resort” and “666 Park Avenue” are not among them.

ABC officially cancelled both shows this week, confirming that none will air beyond their initial thirteen-episode orders.

“Last Resort” was called the year’s best new drama by many critics, including Headline Planet, but it became the latest ABC series to struggle in the Thursday at 8PM timeslot. This week’s episode delivered an abysmal 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, landing ABC in dead last among the networks.

“666 Park Avenue” has similarly struggled to find an audience, routinely turning away millions of viewers provided by its “Revenge” lead-in.
