Add John Cena to the list of names actively pushing for Zack Ryder to become a television regular on RAW.
“Ryder has been on internet 22 str8 weeks and has a legit following with zero tv time. Enuff BS. Can we get this kid on RAW,” wrote Cena on Twitter.
Ryder, who started to get over with diehard fans during the tail-end of his ECW run and, notably, while coaching NXT, truly saw his “Internet wrestling community” stock escalate with the launch of his Z! True Long Island Story video series on YouTube. His television role, nonetheless, devolved into nothing, with the wrestler very infrequently appearing on the weekly RAW telecast.
To WWE’s credit if it remains unsure about more heavily using Ryder, the crowd reaction for Ryder’s recent RAW cameo was not fantastic, although the belief that he would need to make a regular array of appearances before truly getting over is not without validity.
