“Dexter” Wins Primetime Emmy Award for Drama Directing

Star Michael C. Hall fell short in his bid for the Outstanding Lead Actor award at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, but “Dexter” will not go home empty handed.

Director Steve Shill claimed the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, beating out directorial performances from those behind “Dexter,” “Lost,” “Mad Men” and “Treme.”

Shill won his award for “The Getaway.”
