The Phillips Arena, home to a WWE Supershow on July 6, is confirming a NXT 7 vs. RAW match for the event.
According to the venue’s official website, the show will feature “two huge main events,” one of which is the aforementioned NXT vs. RAW battle. Those booked to represent RAW in the 14-man tag are John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho, R-Truth, John Morrison and a presently-undisclosed wrestler.
Also advertised for the Supershow is a fatal four way for the World Heavyweight Championship, featuring Rey Mysterio vs. Kane vs. Jack Swagger vs. The Big Show.
— On the subject of NXT, F4WOnline.com’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is proceeding with plans to develop a third season of the show. While neither SyFy nor an alternative network has ordered episodes of the show past September, WWE apparently wants to keep the concept around. If no deal is made to keep the show on the air, WWE can either rush a season in September, switch to an online format or build NXT into RAW or SmackDown (similar to the Diva Search and Tough Enough).
