Although there is talk that WWE wants to involve the current NXT rookies in the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view, the specifics have yet to be fleshed out.
One plan, according to F4WOnline.com, is for the remaining rookies to participate in a ladder match with the winner receiving a “WWE contract.” Though the scenario seems likely, the idea also effectively undermines the premise of the competition by granting someone a “contract” in advance of winning the competition.
Even though the ongoing NXT invasion storyline and common sense (the wrestlers are already under WWE contracts) makes it clear that more than just the winner will receive a role on television following the season finale, it would be interesting for WWE to pre-emptively devalue the show’s storyline by handing out an early “prize.”
For what it is worth, there had previously been rumors of the season one NXT rookies working a battle royal at WrestleMania; it never came to fruition.
