WWE NXT Ratings Rise Slightly Following Invasion Angle

If part of the goal for launching the NXT Invasion angle on RAW was to boost interest in the second season premiere telecast, WWE was mildly successful.

The premiere, which introduced eight new Rookies and featured some brief follow-up to the RAW storyline, scored a 1.1 cable rating with 1.529 million viewers and a 0.5 adults 18-49 mark. Though the audience was only up slightly from last week’s season finale (1.415 million viewers) and actually down from the approximately 1.7 million who watched the season one premiere, the performance deserves amplified credit given the show’s hefty competition in game three of the NBA Finals.

WWE NXT, which airs Tuesdays on SyFy, will wrap its run at the end of the summer unless SyFy–or another cable network–opts to give the show a second life.
