FOX Slots “Glee” After Super Bowl, Changes Show’s Timeslot

FOX went through with its rumored change, announcing Monday morning that “Glee” will move to the 8PM time period next season.

The breakout musical comedy will air as an 8PM Tuesday lead-in to new comedies “Raising Hope” and “Running Wilde.” After establishing itself as a 9PM hit on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays this year, FOX now hopes it can become an “American Idol”-like tentpole at 8PM and boost viewership for its new offerings.

According to FOX, “Glee” will also receive the coveted post-Super Bowl slot following the 2011 Super Bowl on February 6. It will then move back to Wednesdays at 9PM in a post-“Idol” slot.
