WWE will be announcing the stipulation for John Cena and Batista’s Over the Limit match on RAW this week, and while the expected stipulation should be quite obvious for those aware of Batista’s status with WWE, there has been some internal talk of making a modification.
With Batista planning to embark on a hiatus from WWE after Over the Limit (with the PPV itself or the next week or so of television providing his exit date), most believe the stipulation will be some sort of “loser leaves town” match. Cena would obviously win the match, creating a storyline explanation for Batista’s departure.
F4WOnline.com notes, however, that creative has informally discussed changing the angle due to TNA’s plans for Tara to put her career on the line in a match at Sacrifice. Sacrifice airs on pay-per-view a week before WWE’s show, so there would be a question of originality on WWE’s part.
As of press time, there had been no definitive movement to change the match–it was still on the books as a “loser leaves town” bout–but creative was at least contemplating some other options.
