“Lost” Producer Mocks ABC’s “V” Promo

“Lost”‘s vocal fanbase was anything but pleased with ABC’s intrusive promo for the return of “V” Tuesday, and it appears that executive producer Damon Lindelof shares in the fan perturbance.

“Yes, people, I saw it too. :34 minutes until I cry myself to sleep,” Tweeted Lindelof late Tuesday night.

Over the course of the 62 minute edition of “Lost,” ABC featured a notable graphic in the right corner of the screen that ‘counted down’ until the return of sci-fi series “V.” Unlike some past uses of a countdown ticker, the conspicuous graphic remained on the screen for the duration of the episode.

From a ratings perspective, the “Lost” averaged a 4.0 adults 18-49 demographic from 9-10PM, while the 10:00-11PM “V” fell to a 2.9. Because the preliminary rating for “V” features a 2 minute “Lost” overrun, it is possible the show’s final figure will drop slightly.
