Had Candice Michelle not consistently missed so much time due to injury, her release might never have occurred. But those pinning the Diva’s firing on her “injury prone” nature are missing a key part of the story, says the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
According to reports, Candice Michelle’s appearance definitely played a factor. Management reportedly soured on her based on how she looked at one of her final television appearances–no longer in “Diva shape,” some within WWE took Candice’s appearance as a sign that she was no longer interested in moving higher in the WWE hierarchy.
This adds to a PWInsider.com report, which cited WWE workers who criticized the Diva for making public appearances and participating in outside events, all while nursing injuries that kept her out of the ring. The feeling internally was that if Candice is not going to consistently improve as a long-term, committed asset, it was not worth keeping her on the payroll.
There is still no inside word on why WWE so hastily took Candice’s very complimentary farewell address off its website.
