Ratings: FX’s “The Strain” Hits Viewership Low for Season Premiere

While still a solid performer by cable standards, Sunday’s “The Strain” was the series’ least-watched episode yet.

The episode, which served as the second season premiere, posted a 0.78 adults 18-49 rating with 1.66 million viewers. Prior to the broadcast, no “Strain” episode had attracted fewer than 1.87 million viewers.

Last year’s series premiere delivered a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 2.99 million viewers. The first season finale scored a 1.0 with 2.09 million viewers.

Among adults 18-49, “The Strain” was cable’s #7 program this Sunday.
