Nicki Minaj’s “Night is Still Young” Ranks as Pop’s Most Added; Adam Lambert Follows

After ranking as pop radio’s most added song for three consecutive weeks, Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth)” finally cedes its throne.

According to Mediabase, Nicki Minaj’s “The Night is Still Young” grabs the top spot on this week’s pop radio add board.

The latest single from “The Pinkprint” won support from 43 monitored stations. And insofar as that list of new supporters includes stations like New York’s Z100 and Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP, it possesses quality to go along with its quantity.

Most added at Hot AC this week, Adam Lambert’s new “Ghost Town” ranks as second-most added at pop radio. The lead cut from “The Original High” won adds from 38 monitored pop stations.

It, too, scored in major markets. Key stations in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco are now officially on board with “Ghost Town” (see below).

Skrillex & Diplo’s surging “Where Are U Now (featuring Justin Bieber)” follows with 25 monitored adds, while DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge’s “You Know You Like It” grabs fourth-most added thanks to its 24 pickups.

A weekly total of 21 powers Pitbull’s “Fun (featuring Chris Brown)” to the fifth-most added distinction.

Other popular options at pop this week included Calvin Harris’ “Pray to God (featuring HAIM)” (20 adds, 6th-most added, tie), Shaggy’s “I Need Your Love (featuring Mohombi, Faydee and Costi)” (20 adds, 6th-most added, tie), Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” (19 adds, 8th-most added, tie), Rihanna’s “American Oxygen” (19 adds, 8th-most added, tie) and Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” (19 adds, 8th-most added).

— “The Night is Still Young” and “Ghost Town” officially impacted the pop format this week.

While they did not make the top ten, BANKS’ “Beggin for Thread” (17 adds), Bea Miller’s “Fire N Gold” (12 adds) and Galantis’ “Runaway (U & I)” also went for pop adds this week.
