Charli XCX and Camila Cabello (as part of Fifth Harmony) each appeared for surprise performances during Taylor Swift’s 2015 “1989” tour.
They will be appearing throughout Swift’s 2018 “reputation” tour.
In a Thursday evening Tweet, Swift confirmed that the two pop artists as opening acts for the upcoming stadium concert series.
Fans had guessed the Cabello announcement long before Swift made it official.
In addition to fitting the profile (she is an emerging pop singer-songwriter with clear name value) of Swift’s past openers, Cabello is friends with the Grammy-winning artist.
Astute fans, moreover, had noticed that the dates for Cabello’s own “Never Be The Same” tour seemed to be built around Swift’s “reputation” dates.
The North American leg of the “NBTS” ends just before “reputation” commences. The European “NBTS” dates align (but do not conflict with) Swift’s dates in England and Ireland.
Live 95.5 essentially confirmed the speculation Wednesday. The station Tweeted (but quickly deleted) details for a contest to see Swift and Cabello in concert at Wembley Stadium.
