Update: The RIAA has updated its listing to confirm that Liam Payne’s “Strip That Down (featuring Quavo)” actually went platinum (not simply gold) on August 15, 2017.

The award confirms 1 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Liam Payne, who has amassed numerous US digital song certifications as part of One Direction, just earned such an honor for his debut solo single.

According to the RIAA, Payne’s “Strip That Down (featuring Quavo)” went gold on August 15, 2017.

The award signifies at least 500,000 in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“Strip That Down” is currently in the Top 10 at pop radio and Top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100.
