Tuesday’s midseason “Pretty Little Liars” opener drew fewer live+same-day viewers than previous premieres.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s 7B premiere drew a 0.65 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.330 million overall viewers.
The numbers slightly trail those of the 7A premiere, which drew a 0.67 rating and 1.43 million viewers on June 21, 2016.
They markedly trail the 1.06 rating and 2.25 million viewer mark garnered by the 6B premiere on January 12, 2016.
Season 7B will be the final “Pretty Little Liars” half-season.
— Tuesday’s “PLL” led into the premiere of “Famous In Love,” which drew a soft (especially given the lead-in) 0.30 adults 18-49 rating and 0.65 million viewers.
The extent to which Freeform is evaluating “Famous In Love” based on live+same-day data is nonetheless quite unclear. Following Tuesday’s premiere, the network made the remaining first-season episodes available for on-demand streaming. The move, which mirrors what Freeform did with the first season of “Beyond,” will surely bottleneck the show’s live+same-day performance.
