Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” Earns 5X Platinum Certification In US

As her new single “Chained To The Rhythm” begins to take off, word comes that one of her earlier singles has earned a new multi-platinum certification in the US.

According to the RIAA, Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” went 5x platinum on February 10, 2017.

The certification confirms 5 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“Last Friday Night,” which appeared on Perry’s 2010 album “Teenage Dream,” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at pop radio.
