The Strumbellas’ “Spirits” Confirmed As iHeartRadio “On The Verge” Song

The Strumbellas [Windish]

The Strumbellas’ “Spirits,” which is already up to #19 on the Mediabase alternative airplay chart, has been officially confirmed as the format’s new iHeartRadio “On The Verge” song.

The program, which helped send songs like X Ambassadors’ “Renegades” and Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” to the top of the alternative airplay chart, provides selections with guaranteed airplay on the iHeartMedia network of stations. It also offers branding and promotional support across the iHeart digital network.

“Spirits” succeeds Nothing But Thieves’ “Trip Switch,” which was named the alternative “On The Verge” selection this past fall. The song is up to #6 on the Mediabase airplay chart.

iHeart’s formal announcement regarding “Spirits” came early Monday morning, but it is unclear if and when iHeart stations actually began offering their support (or at least began preparing to offer their support). As noted, “Spirits” has already received a significant amount of airplay; it has also ranked as the format’s most added song in three of the past four weeks.
