Report: Taylor Swift Opening The Grammys With “1989” Song

A Sunday night Super Bowl commercial confirmed that performer Taylor Swift will appear within the first hour of this year’s Grammy Awards telecast.

A new report specifies that her appearance will performance will actually occur within the first few minutes.

Per USA Today, Swift is scheduled to open this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. The nominee is set to perform a track from “1989” but not one that is separately nominated, which would rule out “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood.”

The report adds that the “Grammys performance will mark the first time Swift has delivered the song live on television.” It is unclear if the reporter is sticking to a firm definition of “live” — if so, the additional songs ruled out would be “Out Of The Woods,” “Welcome To New York,” and “Shake It Off.”

If it includes all television performances, “Style,” which she played during the pre-taped Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, would also be off the table.

CBS’ broadcast of the 2016 Grammy Awards takes place at 8PM on February 15.
