The season finale of Showtime’s “The Affair” was the drama’s highest-rated and most-watched episode yet. Lead-in “Homeland” set a season high for the conclusion to its fifth season.
Per Nielsen live+same-day cable data, Sunday’s season two “The Affair” finale posted a 0.34 adults 18-49 rating and reached 1.111 million total viewers. The numbers, which top the 0.24 rating and 989,000 viewership mark posted by last week’s episode, represent the series’ best yet.
Earlier in the night, “Homeland” drew a 0.70 adults 18-49 rating and reached 2.073 million total viewers. While it was not the series’ most-watched episode, it was the best performer of the current fifth season. It was also the first season five episode to draw more than 2 million live+same-day viewers.
Last week’s “Homeland” drew a 0.59 rating and 1.837 million total viewers.
Showtime recently renewed “Homeland” and “The Affair” for sixth and third seasons, respectively.
