Sam Smith’s breakthrough solo hit — and Grammy-winning — “Stay With Me” has earned a new multi-platinum certification from the RIAA.

His “Nirvana,” meanwhile, has attained gold status in the United States.

The former officially ascended to the 7x platinum level on December 8, 2015. The certification confirms a US unit total of at least 7 million, where one unit equals 1 paid download or 100 streams.

In going gold, “Nirvana” boasts a confirmed unit total of at least 500,000.

— While he is not officially listed on the certification, another song featuring Smith’s voice went double-platinum this month. Naughty Boy’s “La La La” earned the honor, signifying a unit total of at least 2 million.
