One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” Debuts at #3 on Hot 100; Drives 350K Sales

Powered by a monstrous sales figure — and solid streaming and radio numbers — One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” scores this year’s best Hot 100 debut position.

The song, which is the first cut from the group’s forthcoming fifth album, starts at #3 on Billboard’s all-encompassing chart. Only The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and OMI’s “Cheerleader” rank higher.

In conjunction with its #3 Hot 100 debut, “Drag” starts at #1 on the Digital Songs chart. It moved 350,000 copies during its first week of release. That is 1D’s greatest opening week sales total yet.

The song also generated 8.5 million US streams (#12 on Streaming Songs) and 17 million radio audience impressions during the relevant tracking weeks.
