The Undertaker Injured at WrestleMania; No Effect on Streak

Those speculating that an injury forced WWE to change the finish in the Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match got it half right.

Dave Meltzer notes that due to fear of a concussion, The Undertaker was hospitalized following Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view. The injury apparently came when Taker took a bad bump early in the match.

That injury did not, however, transform plans for the match. While it is unclear precisely when in the calendar year Undertaker and WWE decided to end his iconic WrestleMania winning streak, that decision definitely came prior to Sunday’s match. Lesnar was absolutely scheduled to win. And he did.

Further proof of the planning comes via the gambling world. Shortly before the match began, significant amount of money began moving in the direction of Lesnar. The sudden movement transformed Lesnar from a massive underdog into a slight favorite.

While WWE worked to keep knowledge of the finish secret, the gambling movement suggests that Lesnar winning was the plan–and that news of the plan leaked to those in position to make bets.
