After generating some initial press, including a minor “feud” with Glenn Beck, the anti-immigrant angle involving Zeb Colter, Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio has largely fallen flat for WWE.
But the Swagger-Alberto Del Rio match is going to happen nonetheless, and it is happening at WWE WrestleMania 29. Swagger has been pushed as a monster in the new role, but will WWE allow him to go over Del Rio, the man it is grooming as its big Mexican babyface star?
And, regardless of who wins, will Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler attempt to cash-in?

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger
A video package on the feud airs as Swagger and Colter make their way to the ring. Once in the ring, Colter cuts a promo on the diversity of the New York region, building to an exclamatory “we, the people” from Swagger.
Del Rio then comes out with introductory support from Rodriguez.
An aggressive Del Rio takes early control of the action, but as he goes up to the top ropes, Colter distracts the champion to give his client an advantage. Swagger gains control, assaulting Del Rio and then sending him shoulder-first into the post.
Swagger continues to work a cornered Del Rio over with knees.
Del Rio quickly takes advantage and goes for a pin, but Swagger kicks out and then boots Alberto.
Swagger connects with a big powerslam. Another two-count. He then charges off the ropes and connects with a shot to Rodriguez’s knee. He sets up for the Patriot Lock, but Alberto works his way out. He works Swagger over in the corner and then connects with a back stabber.
They work their way to their feet, and Del Rio counters a Swagger belly-to-back suplex with one of his own.
Del Rio fights to retain his control of the match, and then he moves into an attempt at the cross armbreaker. Swagger ties his arms up, but Del Rio eventually breaks them apart and goes for the finish. Swagger is unable to reach the ropes, but he counters by locking up Del Rio’s ankle for the Patriot Lock. Del Rio fights to secure the rope break.
Swagger works for a bodyslam, but Del Rio counters and delivers a high-kick to the head. He continues to work over Swagger, but then Colter moves towards the apron and starts taunting Del Rio. Del Rio tries to ignore him, but Colter then kicks away Rodriguez’s crutches, which sends an irate Del Rio to the outside. But as he goes after Colter, Swagger slides out and attacks Del Rio. He then rolls Del Rio back into the ring.
As he gets there, Del Rio slaps on the cross armbreaker, and Swagger taps.
