“Game Change” Wins Top Emmy for Miniseries or Movie

Submitting itself as a miniseries helped “American Horror Story” score a number of key nominations, but it ultimately proved ineffective in winning “AHS” the most important award for which it was nominated.

“Horror Story,” which did win for Outstanding Supporting Actress (Jessica Lange) at Sunday’s 2012 Emmys telecast, fell short in its quest to win the Outstanding Miniseries or Movie trophy.

That instead went to HBO’s “Game Change.” In addition to topping “AHS,” the HBO piece also beat out “Hafields & McCoys,” “Luther,” “Sherlock” and “Hemingway & Gellhorn.”
