More Details On The Flair/ROH Situation

The Wrestling Observer reports that prior to leaving the Ring of Honor event, Ric Flair had been scheduled for a big spot in the ROH Championship main-event.

The report says that Flair was to lock his signature Figure Four on Austin Aries in a crowd-pleasing spot during the main-event; Flair, unfortunately, did not participate in his scheduled outside enforcer role.

As was clarified this morning, reports that Ring of Honor was caught off-guard by Flair’s “walkout” are not true. Though some workers were surprised Flair did not appear in the final match, officials knew that he opted to only appear for the Misawa tribute and his in-ring promo. Sources say it was entirely due to HDNet’s presence at the event; HDNet wanted to film the ROH Championship title change, but Flair, who is returning to WWE, cannot appear in any televised segment, even if only in the background.

As of press time, Flair was still expected to honor his additional three ROH dates for autograph signings and promos.
