In the wake of Leonard Cohen’s passing, three versions of “Hallelujah” make moves in the Billboard chart universe.
Pentatonix’s critically acclaimed cover rises twenty-five places to #56 on this week’s listing. The position is not a peak for the song, but it does represent its highest mark since debuting at #32 three weeks ago.
The cover concurrently rises to #19 on Digital Song Sales.
Leonard Cohen’s original finally makes its Hot 100 debut, grabbing #59 on the Hot 100. It also takes #12 on Digital Song Sales (but received fewer points from streams and radio than the PTX cover, hence its lower placement on the Hot 100).
Jeff Buckley’s famous cover, meanwhile, arrives at #7 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. It concurrently re-enters Digital Song Sales at #29.
