Niykee Heaton confirmed Wednesday that her breakthrough single “Bad Intentions” has been certified gold in the United States. The Capitol Records artist received her plaque during Wednesday’s iHeartMedia event.
The gold certification confirms a US unit total of at least 500,000. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
Heaton’s solo version was first released in 2014, while a remix featuring Migos made a splash this year. The remix reached the Top 30 at rhythmic radio, and its accompanying video has garnered over 10 million views since its June 30 release.
